Liebster Award

I am so honored to have received a Liebster Award from Roisin at Little Learner Toolbox!

 ‘What is a Liebster Award?’

'I wondered the same thing!  :)  The Liebster Award is an award for new blogs (under 200 followers) . Liebster is a German word that means: BELOVED, CUTE, LOVELY, DEAREST, and WELCOME.

As part of accepting this award, I get to nominate other blogs for this award and answer some questions so my followers get to know me better.  You can see my answers below!

I have decided to nominate these bloggers:

Q1: What is one of the most beautiful places you have ever visited?
Ireland!   For my father-in-law’s 50th birthday, my husband and I as well as my sister-in-law and brother-in-law took him to Ireland.  It was so beautiful!  Green countryside everywhere!  We all want to go back as soon as possible….of course, we went BEFORE kids, so  it may be awhile before we get to go again!  J

Q2: If you could go to three places in the world – one for a week, one for a month and one for a year – where would you go?

Hmmm…this one is very interesting!
For one week:  Australia (dream vacation spot)
For one month:  Ohio (visit all of my family)
For one year:  Anywhere, as long as I'm with my husband and kids.  I am not all that adventurous, and I know I couldn't make it a whole year without them!

Q3: If you could have one superpower, what would it be?

I think I would have the power of the clock.  I would be able to speed it up while doing something I don’t want to do (like moving) and be able to slow it down when I want to enjoy something longer (like vacation…or my kids growing up too quickly!)

Q4: If you could rewrite the ending of any movie what would it be?

Toy Story 3.  I am torn about this one, because I love that Andy’s toys are getting to be loved by another child, but I had hoped that they would stay in the family.  Especially now with all of the “theories” that Andy’s mom was Jessie’s former owner.  That makes all of those toys even more special!

Q5: When did you decide you wanted to be a teacher?

I was probably 7, maybe younger.  I have ALWAYS wanted to be a teacher and my whole family knew it!  My mom kept all of the (hundreds) of books I read so that I could add them to my classroom library and I have!

Q6: What app can you not live without on your phone? Why?

Facebook….I’m addicted and it is sad!

Q7: What teaching supply could you not live without?

MY markers.  You know, the ones you don’t let the kids use because they are perfect and the kids would mess up the tips?

Q8: What got you into blogging?

I started blogging because I am not in the classroom anymore.  It is a way for me to still stay up to date in the education world while I am staying at home.  I have really enjoyed all of the connections I have made from all around the world!

Q9: How many years have you been teaching for?

I taught in the classroom for 12 years before moving to California about a year and a half ago.

Q10: What advice would you give your 18 year old self?

Love yourself more and don’t do things to please others!

Q:11: If you could change a movie ending what would it be?  Since I answered about a movie above, I am going to answer about a TV series here.  My husband got me into Dexter and I really liked the show (as horrible as the topic was).  But, the ending seemed a little rushed to me, like they just wanted to finish the series.  It left a lot of questions (like why would you leave your son with a crazy woman, even though you thought he would be better off without you?).

Now, for my questions to my nominees:

1.  How did you come up with the name of your blog?
2.  What is your favorite sport to watch?
3.  What is the first thing you usually notice about a person?
4.  What would be your dream job and why?
5.   If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
6.  What was your favorite book (or series) as a child?
7.  Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
8.   If you could have dinner with anybody, past or present, who would it be?  Why?
9.  What is your favorite season?  Why?
10.  Morning person or night owl?
11.  What is your biggest pet peeve?
