Target Finds!

Hi, my name is Krista and I am a Target-aholic!  Anyone else feel addicted to the red target sign!?  I had to go into town for another reason, but I was so excited because it meant I could go to Target too!  It has been way too long (sad, I know!)

Of course, the first place I always go is to the Dollar bin.  I am so glad I did!  Look at what I found today!

Plastic dividers in cute patterns!

Of course, as you probably know, the dollar bin has things that are $1, $2, or $3 each and a couple of these things were more than a dollar, but I couldn't resist!  I love the plastic "wallet-like" pouches to help me organize the huge pile of papers paperwork. These modern designs make me want to use them even more!  I like the large binders (the two teal ones) while I am working on lessons.  I organize papers that I need to copy, those I need to turn in somewhere, and those that I need to put back in a file or binder.  The middle size (yellow and gray) and the small one (pink chevron) will be used to organize task cards and playing cards.

Eric Carle's Hungry Caterpillar sketch pack

The Eric Carle pack includes a notepad, memo pad, pencil, eraser, pencil sharpener, pencil pouch, and a sticker sheet.  This could be used in a treasure box (either all together or as 7 different items) or other rewards while reading this book in class.  I liked the pencil pouch, especially with the 3 holes in it so it will fit in a binder.  I thought I might use it to store a couple of dry erase markers to put in my binder that I keep practice sheets in page protectors for students to write on and erase.

Sticky catch game

The catch game is mostly for my 2 year old nephew (we get to babysit him this weekend!).  But, the more I look at it, the more I keep thinking it could make a fun game!  My mind is still reeling with ideas, but I am thinking about math facts or review material.....I'll let you know when I decide what to do!

Dr. Seuss' Cat in the Hat water bottle

The Dr. Seuss water bottle is also for the nephew, who likes to keep up with my big kids (10 and 11).  But, it could also be a great treasure chest prize.  I have also seen a picture floating around on Pinterest in which you draw lines on the bottle and write times of the day on it to remind yourself to keep hydrated.  You could do this with this bottle and keep it for yourself in the classroom!

What have you found in Target's dollar bin?  What do you do with those items?  I can't wait to hear...it means I may have to go back soon!  :)

Until next time,
